KB3HAX History

Hello,

I am new to Ham Radio, received my license in December 2002. Age here is 54 and I wished I had gotten into the hobby sooner. I love CW and the old "Glow-In-The-Dark" tube radios. To me, that was what radio is about - building, repairing, and maintaining your equipment. June was my very first Field Day and I had a lot of Fun.

One night I was working a ham in West Virginia on CW. I learned he was transmitting at 4 watts, (I was 100 watts) I was impressed. So I've been reading articles on QRP. The more I read, the more interested I became. I built a Small Wonder 400 mWatt transmitter but have not tried it yet. I am looking forward to working QRP and building some of my own equipment. Currently I do work some SSB, but 95% of my contacts are CW. I am also a member of FISTS, #8689.
