28 August 2004 MQFD Trip
I arrived at my location around 12:30 UTC and started to setup my station. By 12:45 UTC I was calling CQ on 40 meters.
Station Location is around 1 mile south of Route 183 near Strausstown, PA.
I was keeping my batteries charged with Solar Power and regulator.
The rig was the Elecraft K1.
The Ninja QRP Operator is spotted again.
I was using WA3WSJ's VBWFPA antenna, this is a picture of the base.
While I was operating the Boy Scout Troop #489 from Bethel, PA came walking out from the brush. I had a very enjoyable chat and described what I was doing.
The bands were not in the best of shape but I did manage to work the following stations.
W2APF/1, Thaire in NH on 40 meters
AB1DR, Ann in NH on 40 meters
K8KFJ, Garie in WV on 40 meters
VE3ELA, Ken in Ontario on 40 meters
N1IX, Dave in NH on 40 meters.
My 20 meters band on the K1 was not working properly. I did call CQ on 30 and 15 meters for a while but I had no takers. Have to fix my 20 meters on the K1.
