BW Description

The Black Widow is a tri-band vertical antenna utilizes a 20 foot
telescopic pole that collapses down to 45". With the purchase
of the 15 meter radiator it will become a four-band vertical.
It is designed to work on 20m, 30m and 40m, but as stated above
it can also work on 15 m. After you have used the antenna a
few times, you will find that setup of the system will take
you between 5 to 10 minutes depending on your conditions.
This antenna has been used by Ron, WB3AAL, out on the
Appalachian Trail with over 400+ QSO's since it conception
by Ed, WA3WSJ.
It is designed to be configured as a ground mounted antenna.
It works well on the ground, but has been used on a sea vessel
with excellent results too. The six ground radials should be used for
proper operation although Ed, WA3WSJ, has used only three ground radials
on a ship with excellent results. The BW Vertical will work fine with 100 watts.
If you purchased the High Wind Pole Support Assembly (HW-Kit),
you now have an antenna that will withstand wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
The antenna will be tuned with 25 feet of RG8X coax, it is suggested
that the RG8X be used for best results.
The antenna is sold with the pole as the BW.
If you already have a 20 foot pole, we can sell it with
out the pole as the BW-NP. Please contact us before you
purchased the BW-NP.
Note: This antenna is designed for portable use.
It should not be installed as a permanent installation.
