A few years ago I wanted to improve on the idea of the St. Louis vertical.

So I came up with the Original Idea for the Black Widow Vertical.

I purchased the Black Widow pole from Cabela's and the other material I picked up at hamfest..

My version had a large coil because I was trying to get 80m to work on the coil.

I had to improve on the coil taping system and the radials. Everything was going along smoothly.

Then shortly after my first outing on the Appalachian Trail a so call friend seen my design and how it worked, he stole the idea and made his version of the BWV.

He currently has plans on his web site for how you can make the BWV. I must warn you that his pricing for cost is if you would  purchased everything in Bulk and not as individual items or a couple of feet.

I am looking for my pictures of when I had the antenna out on the Appalachian Trail, I hope I can find them.
