Hello,

My name is Ed Kessler and I live in Millersburg (30 mi. N. of Harrisburg on the east side of the  Susquehanna River).

Currently, I'm a Pastor of a church in Millersburg, and an Adjunct Professor at Messiah College.

Primary hobbies are biking, climbing, backpacking, cross-country skiing, astronomy, and of course,  ham radio. My most recent adventure was a 6 week cross-country bicycle trip from Astoria, Oregon  to Ocean City, NJ. I took a self-contained SW+ 20m radio along and made a few contacts.

I've been a ham since Oct. of 1998 when I passed the Novice, Tech, General and 20 wpm code  tests.
In March of 1999 I passed the Advanced and Extra tests.

Former call:  KB3DBS; Now AA3SJ.

I was a Novice back in the 70s but allowed my license to expire. As a ham I like to focus on  homebrew and cw, and also enjoy DXing at low power (QRPp).

Projects that I have completed:
20m and 30m homebrew transceivers constructed around the miniR2 Single
Signal DC Receiver.
A built-from-scratch copy of the SW+ 20m rig.
The miniPIG 10m rig designed by Deiter Gentzow.
Micro-mountaineer 40m rig.
An "Ugly Weekender" transceiver for 40m.
A 20/40 meter rig with "stacked" SW+ radios.
A 20m, 30m, 40m 20W QRP amplifier.
Tuners, meters, etc. . . .

Current Project:  a 5 band transceiver based around W7ZOI's Progressive
Receiver, and an ultra-lightweight Spartan Sprint rig.

Kits that I have built:
Several SSTs and DSWs (which I sold thinking I could always build others,
duh!  If any body has any they'd like to unload . . .) :-)
A K2, A MFJ Cub etc. . .

Along with my homebrew stuff I also have a complete Corsair II setup and an
old Heath SB200 amp which I turn on in the winter time just to warm up the
shack.  I also own 2 Wilderness Sierra rigs.

Just checked the log:  80% of my 1000+ QSOs have been with 5 watts or
less.  I have WAS and DXCC requirements completed with QRP but haven't yet
taken the time to have the QSLs checked.

I am tremendously indebted to my two elmers, Mike, W3TS, and Larry, AA3PX.

Well, that's my "little blurb."  Hope to get to meet some of you.
