I was licensed in April of 2002, and issued the callsign KB3HWY. I am a active participant in the Mid-Atlantic ARC and Montgomery County RACES/ARES. I run net control duties for a homebrewer's net every Saturday morning on the Mid-Atlantic ARC's repeaters (WB3JOE). I also net control a 6 meter RACES/ARES net for MontCo RACES/ARES. I recently passed my element 1 (CW) test, and have been on the HF airwaves under my own callsign for a few weeks. I have built a QRP transmitter project, and I am working on a lightning detector project and a QRP Transceiver which will be crystal controlled to 7.110 +/-, both projects were in QST in April and December of 2002, respectively. I currently hold a Tech with CW licence, and the callsign of N3LJB.

I have been interested in QRP from the time when I was licensed, and have worked N3AO on 10 meter CW with 300 mw. I enjoy the thrill of using as little as possible, and making communication using QRP because it is a challenge, and is a whole lot of fun!
