History: Interested in Amateur radio since I was young but did not get my
license till early 1990's. I currently hold a general class license. My QRP
rig is an HW-8. My interest in radio was generated from a 1912 crystal
detector that my Grandfather built and listened to distress communications
from the Titanic sinking. This set now sits in my shack as remembrance of
him and early radio design. My interest in QRP is generated from the
satisfaction of establishing a contact and communicating at the lowest power
