W3TUA History
I’ve been licensed since 1984 and had the call KA5VCQ until July 2006. My new call came as a result of joining the Frankford Radio Club and wanting a shorter call for CW contests. Also, I thought it would be a nice way to fit in here in PA since I’m an active duty Army recruiter and just arrived a few months ago.
Of course, I love QRP and own an Elecraft K-1 which I like to take on trips with my motorcycle. In 2005, I was deployed to Iraq and operated under the callsign of YI9VCQ using mostly CW and had many QRP contacts out of the 11,000+ QSO’s in my log.
I hope to see you on the air soon.
