TAC 2002 Soap Box
I had fun operating the TAC Contest with my K2 this year. It was nice hearing so many stations working the contest. Bands were better than the previous two years. There were a few stations that I just could not pull out of the QRN that I had in the area. I used my K2 @ 5 watts into a Butternut HF9V on the roof with elevated radials. The battery was solar charged. 72 Ron de N3EPA (WB3AAL)
Heard lots of Euro FD stations. Worked everyone I could hear, I hope more were there. 15 meters was almost dead - DX was there but hard of hearing for FD QRM. Thanks for the fun sprint. 72 Jim de AA0XJ
Glad to participate again this year. Sorry there were so few others active. After a half hour of calling with no QSOs, I turned up to QRO and worked some more Europeans in their Region One Field Day contest. I don't think conditions were all that bad on 20 and 40, but there was no activity on 40 when I tried calling there and 15 and 10 were just about dead. I checked back several times later and heard no more QRP activity around 14060. Hope it will be better next time. 72 John de K4BAI
